COVID 19 and Biz Aviation Recovery

Since my optimistic last post things have moved on.  Aviation International News reported that on 20 June 2020 US business aviation traffic was actually better than a year ago - up 2.5% when adjusted for the day of the week.  Those were weekend numbers and mid week figures still have to catch up, but I think that when it comes to leisure flying as opposed to business, clients will not risk commercial airlines.  But how is Europe doing?  If the numbers of revenues at my old company are anything to go by, then its going to be busy.  We are now seeing about two thirds of the traffic we would normally see at the time of year and those numbers are steadily climbing.  With France now allowing intra-Europe travel and the UK about to open up 'air bridges' with some countries, so avoiding the need to self isolate on entry, the numbers are set to climb even higher.  The buzz around bizjet crews is that we are well over the hump and companies are now paying them extra to work outside their rosters.  So while the commercial side is still taking a beating it would appear that biz aviation is gaining in strength.  May it continue.
